Model for the day!

So today was my first modelling experience and I must say I enjoyed every second! Considering LesleyAnne asked me late last night I didn't do that bad. My nerves got the better of me at the start but Ailis and I had a glass of pinot and all my nerves disappeared!
The Vintage Fair held in the  Castletroy Park Hotel hosted by  LesleyAnne AbsolutelyFab Facebook Page every  month right up to November is a treasure trove of everything vintage.
It's great for anybody that loves looking through the racks and finding either a vintage piece or even something they could upstyle into something different. I bought one of the pieces I  wore as it was a bargain at 15 euro! Some items were as little as 3 euro for a dress!
LesleyAnne has done a fantastic job with the help of Louise at bringing Vintage to life in the heart of our beautiful city Limerick. I'm a lover of #supportlocal and so many businesses were represented but my favourites were No. 15 Le Maison Facebook Page   and Happily Ever Arches Facebook Page

So I periscoped the bridal section of the event today as it was the only bit is wasn't in!
Hope you enjoy it! My Life The Event Periscope .
All the dresses featured were stunning and considering one dress was 27 years old it was in immaculate condition.
I will have another blog post up tomorrow when I upload my videos and pictures but what a great day and here's to the next one in March!

Thanks LesleyAnne for giving me the opportunity to cover the event and be part of it also. Here's to many more exciting events and not too shabby for my first attempt at modelling!
See you next time

My Journey to the Great Limerick Run

I started this year thinking what can I achieve this year that I haven't done yet. I always wanted to start a blog so I'm excited to begin that journey. I also wanted to make a small difference in some way. I'm currently looking for a charity that I will work with but any suggestions would be helpful. My goal for this year for myself was to do things I have never done. One of these is running the 10km. I hate the gym and never exercised in my life, hard to say that but I didn't.
I needed help, a lot of help to be honest but found it in the form of Leanne Moore, personal trainer and also my motivation to become a clean eater and hopefully run the 10km!
Leanne Moore  is a personal trainer aswell as being a patron for Paleo Ireland check them out here Paleo Ireland
Leanne gave me the confidence in needed and had set me up with a great plan and hopefully I will become stronger and fitter so I can achieve my goal.
Leanne has encouraged me to give up sugar and also now I'm checking sugar content while shopping. No more Fruit Shoots for Ronan , they contain the same amount of sugar as a can of coke!
And so it begins, ,my life as a gym bunny with my husband,my sugar free lifestyle and smoking hot body! Well two out of three ain't bad!
Leanne has started an #EEC50 EAT clean challenge for 50 days through Lent and beyond.
Challenge start date fell on a weekend – some people might be a little less likely to get involved – but her advice is DO IT and just do the best YOU can. One of the biggest concerns for people is what to eat if you are eating out. Leanne put together some of her TOP TIPS to help you stay on track.

Research The Restaurant:

It might sound extremely nerdy but do you really care if it’s helping keep you on track to your goal? Most restaurants have an online presence. Look up their website. Read through their menu’s. Take time to consider what the “cleanest” options are. I ALWAYS look up the menu so that I know I won’t be stuck when it comes to ordering.

Ask For What You Want:

You don’t always have to take what’s on the menu. Most places are happy to make changes for you. DOn’t be afraid to ask for adjustments that you want. For example if the dish is accompanied by chips or rice ask if you might have a side salad or portion of mixed veg instead. Again I rarely stick fully to what’s written on the menu. I usually ask for some adjustment.

Get The Sauce On The Side:

Giving up on the sauces is a tough thing to do as they do add flavour to the meal. But by asking for the sauce on the side you can then dip your food in as necessary and will end up using a fraction of what could have been on your plate skipping ALOT of unnecessary calories.

Look Out For Buzz Words:

Boiled, steamed, baked and grilled are all words you should be looking out for on your menu. These are normally the healthier options (depending on accompaniments of course!) For the most part steer clear of anything that has been fried.

Pass On The Bread Basket:

It’s probably the hardest part for most but do try to avoid picking at the bread basket before your meal. One way to avoid this is to not let yourself go out for dinner STARVING. Many people let themselves go hungry all day in a bid to make up for eating out at night. This is the wrong approach. Eat as normal during the day. Allow yourself a small snack two hours before your scheduled dinner. That way when the bread basket comes out you WON’T be as inclined to kill those hunger pangs with stodgy white rolls.

Do You Really Need All Three Courses?

I usually opt for two courses maximum when out for a meal. If there is something clean on the dessert menu that I fancy – like a fresh fruit salad – I’ll pass on the starter. However I usually like to go with a starter and a main course. By adding a third course you add a lot of extra calories as portion sizes in most places are quite large. I usually opt for a coffee or green tea at dessert time and some fresh fruit if they have it and it does the trick nicely.

Remember eating clean does not mean not doing the things you like to do. A little awareness is really all it takes.
Check out Leanne Moore for upto date recipes and loads more including workouts and online plans. Make sure to follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Thanks Leanne you are an inspiration to me and thanks for all your help in getting me off the couch and becoming a better person.
I really want to take part in  a tough mudder but not sure if I would survive what do you guys think? Should I?

Competition time!!!

As everyone knows I do love a competition! The above picture is me dressing up in my swimsuit for a Redbull Cliff Diving event. Yes i walked to work in my swim suit and got down to the last 10. I had to then jump off the jeanie johnson ship in dublin while live on the 2fm Breakfast Republic. It was so much fun and met some great people. As I'm a great believer in #yolo you need to do these things to keep life interesting. Some might say I'm mad I like to say I'm living life to the max!  I have won so many things from tickets to meeting The Wanted, Union J and The Vamps with ronan. We all love music in our family and with my husband just after being signed to Vandit Records, a trance music label, it's forever in our blood.

So I decided to have a competition to win some tickets to a great music event in our lovely city Limerick. Dolans.ie is bringing Hermitage Green Live at the Big Top and I have two tickets to give away for the gig. It's all happening the May Bank Holiday weekend May 1st at 7pm in the Milk Market Limerick.

So what do I need to do? Well you need to like my facebook page, share my page on your own facebook page and tag some friends you might bring to the gig. You will have to be available to collect the tickets in limerick as photos will need to be taken for my blog. Good luck everyone and remember sharing is caring. The more you share the extra points you win earn.
Good luck

Milford Hospice 10 km walk

So it's February 1st and lots of us have let our goals for the year slip or like me we are excelling in our goals! I must say I'm loving my new ways and very proud of myself. Yesterday I achieved my first 10km in the wind and rain in aid of Milford Hospice in Limerick. I'm extremely proud of my mother who throughout the walk pushed herself and achieved something she hasn't done in a while. She isn't one for fitness so struggled but pushed through the wall at 4km and made it to the finish and even running the track at the end.

I'm sure a lot of people are hitting a slump but my advice is knock the wall down with both hands and push through it. My saving grace at the moment is my personal trainer Leanne Moore. We meet once a week and she has inspired me to do things I never knew possible! Although my first session I ended up seeking refuge in the women's bathroom ( I will let you guess why), I'm still going back for more.
I will do a full blog post with all her details and links to her youtube videos which I find great for at home workouts.
Hopefully in May I will be running the 10km and glad to have inspired my mum to do it also.
Here's to setting and reaching our goals #yolo
Love
