Milford Hospice 10k Run/Walk

Hey guys, as most of you know I'm doing the Milford Care Centre 10k Run/walk in preparation for my 10k Great Limerick Run. I have coaxed my mum and one of my work colleagues Ann to do it with me. It wasn't that hard as Milford Hospice is close to most people's hearts whether it is having a family member in respite there or having help with bereavement of losing a family member. My own personal experience with my uncle was a tough one as he had motor neuron disease. He was in the hospice for nearly 3 years but the care he got was second to none. Also my grandfather God rest him had care beyond belief.  I have great admiration for all the staff from the tea ladies to the nursing staff. I have never raised money or done anything to support them before but that's going to change. We all have busy lives but life can change in the blink of an eye as I well know. To think the volunteers give up their spare time to help out and don't expect anything in return. This is my thank you may it be small but it's a start.

Milford Care Centre is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation and registered charity. It was first established by the Little Company of Mary Sisters in 1928 and now provides Specialist Palliative Care and Older Persons Services in the Mid West. Its Board of Directors and Management Team oversees its service delivery and fundraising activities.

If you have any spare time this Sunday afternoon please come and support a great service and cause. If not they are always looking for general volunteers Application forms to become a volunteer or you could pledge a donation Donate Now

Swap Shop Recycle and Restyle

Today started with no plans and to just relax and put finishing touches to my blog but then my cousin Sarah rang and that all changed! We ended up attending a beautiful event in the Castletroy Park Hotel hosted by Lesley Anne Liddane from Absolutely Fab Les' Boutique. Lesley Anne AbsolutelyFab Les
There was a collection of vintage and one off pieces that had once been  loved and were looking for a new home. Stalls were heaving with jewels and clothes with a fantastic fashion show thrown in for good measure. The setup was quaint and afternoon tea was being served for guests also. The stalls varied from food stalls to clothes and jewellery.
My favourite was the Honest To Goodness stand of course! As everyone knows I  love my food and their chutneys are amazing. I purchased a few and at a very reasonable price of 3 euro a jar! Lucky Lane in Catherine Street Limerick

So many stalls to mention but another favourite of mine was No 15. "Le Maison de Curio" that are located in limerick city. The have so many pieces ranging from stunning vintage wedding dresses to the accessories you need for you next trip to the races. No 15 "Le Maison de Curio"

What a great way to spend an afternoon and I must say next time I will give you all plenty of notice..Most definitely was the best 2 euro entry into an event in have ever spent!

King John's Castle's New Journey

Exciting  news! King John's Castle is becoming a new gig venue here in my home town, limerick city. I'm so excited as the castle is only around the corner from my family home and has been a huge part of my childhood. It's great for the city as each year it grows and so exciting for me as music is a huge part of my life and my husbands as he is a DJ/Producer. We love our live gigs and I'm hoping to do my first live periscope from the gig!
It's all happening the weekend of Riverfest which is the May Bank Holiday. The same weekend as the Great Limerick Run which I'm in training for! More of which I will post about later.

Tickets are on sale from ticketmaster.ie check out the castle facebook page for more details  https://www.facebook.com/KingJohnsCastle/
Also tickets available on Dolans.ie page also click on link below
Great video from Shannon Heritage!

My journey begins..

So where to begin? My name is Patricia Lowe and I'm from a small town called Newport in Co. Tipperary in Ireland. I'm hoping you will join me in my journey and live my experiences with me through my blog. I'm a great believer in that you only live once so get out there and enjoy the simple things in life.
I'm very grateful for what I have and life has thrown so much in my way. I have decided that it's my turn to do something for myself and writing has always been my passion. So here's to learning new skills, experiencing new things and achieving goals I've always wanted to do and of course making a heap of new friends along the way.
