Marissa Carter Masterclass in Bunratty Castle Hotel

Where do I begin...Well first of all to have an amazing event on my doorstep was fantastic. Dublin seems to be the hub of all things great, like fashion events or blogging events and for once I didn't have to travel. Marissa's Masterclass was held in  the beautiful Bunratty Castle Hotel in Clare just around 10 minutes from Limerick. I arrived to a queue of women waiting patiently for the doors to open!
We were greeted with a pink lemonade reception and could sit wherever we liked.
I had met up with Yonne and Aoibhinn fellow bloggers so we got three seats together.
The excitement began when we had some goodies on our seats courtesy of Cara pharmacy. I don't want to spoil it for people that might be going but let's just say you won't be disappointed with the haul you will receive!

The day began with Marissa giving her sister a makeover. Not that she needed it! She went through step by step tutorials of contouring, sun blushing, eye makeup tricks and lip application.

The above picture is a little tricky she showed us for doing a quick eye makeup. If you put sellotape on both sides of the eyes and apply your eye makeup as normal when you remove the tape you will have clean lines. She also recommended a few of her favourite products which included one of mine the Flomar Primer..The conversation flowed between her sister and herself and was very entertaining listening to their stories.
Marissa did some contouring using her instant bronze gel buy I'm still debating that one else as I know for a fact it would look like brown stains on my face!
Marissa had two other makeup artists doing demos and also a skincare specialist  showing the damage sun can do to your skin.
I was blown away by the amount to of spot prizes she was giving out. The one prize is would have loved was the pink dressing gowns as you all know if love my fluffy dressing gown aka the one I live in!
Michelle from Inglot did a tutorial using a few products i hadn't heard of. Duraline was one of them. It's  a waterless clear liquid that can intensify the colour of any powder and transform it into an easy to apply, water resistant liquid.
I was furiously writing all the products down as I'm trying my best to make more of an effort with my makeup regime. They had an extensive list of all of Marissa's favourite products on our table aswell which was great.
Between all the beauty talk and spot prizes they served us afternoon tea which was delicious. We had a mix of everything but my favourites were the meringue and goats cheese crostini.
I learned loads from the skincare specialist who showed us what sun damage can do to your skin and how I can take care of my skin  even going forward now. The key word was "double cleanse". Using a glycolic cleanser can help dissolve foundation and tighten pores. I went and bought two products that she recommended.
I'm trying these for a month or two and will review them after I've given them a good trial. Marissa did say that the Redermic is not for everyone and you would have to build up tolerance to the product as your skin can become irritated. So you would use it once a week for one month then twice a week for a month and so on. I loved this section as it was all about anti ageing and as I  am 37 I will try anything!
As my followers know I work in the pharmacy world and when I here a great product being recommended I whether excited. Marissa recommended Udos Oil as a supplement to help with skin. I love Udos Oil and we sell it by the bucket load!
I could go on  for days about all the different elements to the day but some people are going to the other  masterclasses so need to keep it short!
Danielle ended the day with a masterclass of makeup on Marissa herself. She showed us different techniques and loved the way she made her makeup look flawless.
Our day finished up with everyone getting their picture taken with Marissa but unfortunately as a blogger my phone went dead from  taking too many pictures earlier and didn't have a phone to take a picture.Huge sad face!!! Anyways always next time..
The goodie bag made up for it and the most fantastic day of learning and girlie chats.
I loved the day and hope Marissa comes back soon to our neck of the woods as her enthusiasm and friendliness was infectious. Thanks for a great day and best of luck Marissa with the rest of your Masterclasses.

My new best friend called Stella and Dot

When my cousin Sarah introduced me to Stella and Dot I knew my addiction to their jewellery had begun! It's an exclusive brand that you can't buy in the shops but can get through a stylist or online. This is their story and must say I'm hooked!
Stella and Dot, an Inc. is a San Francisco based social selling company that creates flexible entrepreneurial opportunities for women. Their boutique-style jewellery and accessories line is available exclusively through in-home Trunk Shows by Independent Stylists and online.
Their one of a kind collections are designed by celebrated New York designers and featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia and Elle as well as on the wrists and necklines of today's hottest celebrities. The Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Independent and The Telegraph have praised Stella & Dot for their innovative social shopping concept which brings together the best of ecommerce, social media, personal service and passionate earning to create the ultimate home based business for today's modern woman.

Jessica Herrin,Founder and CEO a mother of two and mentor to many, had a vision to create a new kind of company that would offer today's busy woman a career alternative. As co-founder of WeddingChannel.com (as featured on Oprah!),
Jessica wanted to use her savvy to help solve the modern woman's dilemma: achieving success and balance through a career you love. Never one to go with the status quo, Jessica felt that the typical home based business just didn't deliver. With lacklustre product, high pressure sales tactics, and old school marketing methods, inventory was ending up in people's wardrobes with little profit in their pockets.

Jessica's vision called for an entirely new concept that could guarantee women flexibility, reward, style, profit and fun. With an irresistible product and exceedingly personal service, a proven formula for passionate earning and personal success was born.
I must say when my cousin Sarah introduced me to Stella and Dot I was blown away by the quality and the uniqueness of the jewellery.

So Sarah and my best friend Emma are both stylists and work to their own schedule. They hold trunk shows in the comfort of your own home and even bring nibbles and bubbly. People can place orders with them on the night and your items arrive within 3-4 working days. The best thing I like about the brand is that they have a great costumer service if your item breaks. It's called the delight guarantee. They will replace the item no questions asked. My favourite item at the moment is their ear climbers.

The links below will bring you directly in contact with a stylist. Organise a girly night in with your friends and enjoy shopping from the comfort of your own home! Did I mention that the hostess gets free jewellery? Now who would say no to free jewellery.

Look forward to seeing all your new jewellery on my Snapchat #mylifetheevent

Clare's Wish Foundation newest volunteer!

Clare's Wish Foundation

So as everyone knows I'm training for the Great Limerick Run which is happening on the May Bank Holiday weekend in Limerick. I'm embarrassed to admit that I have never really done anything for charity. I've done bits and pieces but nothing much. I'm super excited and proud of the fact I've finally done something about it. I met Kevin Clancy through twitter and met with him and what can i say i was engrossed in his amazing story. Clare's Wish Foundation is the only Irish charity granting wishes for adults with terminal and life threatening illnesses. Kevin founded the foundation in 2013 and has currently granted 24 wishes. I'm delighted to be part of something that excites me and if I can bring happiness into the lives of the wishers it would be a fantastic achievement for me personally.

I'm currently bombarding everyone for sponsorship but if you can help in any way I've put up the text line where you can donate just €4 which goes towards helping us grant wishes.
Our next big event is happening on the 24th of April in the Radison Blu Hotel & Spa in Limerick supported by Hillary Thompson Modelling Agency and will run from 3-6pm with the fashion show at 5pm. A €5 admission donation will be accepted at the door and goes directly to the wish fund. The Radison is offering a free glass of punch on arrival and €1000 off any wedding booked on the day for 2016.

So there you have it! A great event not to be missed and also  a great charity to support so what are you waiting for??? Get texting or drop me a mail on patricialowe1978@gmail.com if you wish to sponsor me for the run. Check out their Facebook page here and will you be there????

The best party so far this year! Sparkle and Shine Easter Ball

So last Saturday the prep began early for the Ball..I used my Aveeno Shea butter all over that morning after my shower and my skin was glowing as I used my cocoa Brown tan the previous two nights.  I arrived at the Limerick Strand Hotel at around 3.30pm as the lovely girls from Wedding Heaven were doing our makeup and hair. Follow them here Wedding Heaven Facebook Page

I loved my makeup so much that I took over 30 selfies that day! Aoife also had her hair and makeup done by the girls and at a great offer of €50 for both you couldn't go wrong. The girls had a room in the hotel so it was so convenient for us so all we had to do was put our dresses and shoes on and go!
My dress was from Love Cherish in charleville in Cork and my shoes were Kate Appleby which I must say we're super comfortable all night!

When we arrived for the prosecco reception there was so many people dressed up to the nines and I loved it! All the men looked super draper in their tuxedos. I must say the first thing I said was I can't wait for the next one! The guys from Sunshine candy cart had a Ferrero pyramid and was divine.

We were entertained on the night before dinner by the Unity Gospel Choir who were amazing...wish I could sing like that! Well I kinda do in the car every morning on the school run..
As we went downstairs for dinner there was a red carpet for us to get pictures taken and I must say I did for a split second feel like a celebrity and I loved it!
Dinner was amazing and I must say seeing my name on the menu as a sponsor was a real eye opener for me on how far I've come to my start in making a difference in my life. The simplest of gestures that help in any way does make my insides happy!
The meal was fantastic and the Sparkle on the desert was so pretty..The wine flowed all night and must say enjoyed the entertainment during dinner. Cole Page sang and even keith himself took the the stage to sing. Check out myfacebook page for videos from the night.

I absolutely loved the night and would highly recommend going next year. Met some amazing people on the night and have met some lifelong friends.
